Hey. I’m a (kinda) normal guy from here in Alabama. Ohatchee, AL to be specific.

But the thought that keeps popping in my mind is -

“what if therapists could hire virtual assistants who just so happened to also be licensed mental health professionals themselves!”

Here’s my plan:

  1. Find and vet standout Filipino clinicians seeking better opportunities

  2. Enroll them in existing VA academies. (They’re already therapy fluent, but after that training they would emerge admin savvy as well)

  3. Match them with U.S. therapists who would benefit from dependable, therapy-literate support

Oh, and maybe some of the things I mentioned above have sparked some questions or further curiosity. If so, below are some of the questions folks ask me sometimes when I tell them about my “big idea”.

All other things being equal, seems to me that a VA who already knows the nuances of your world from the inside would feel less like an assistant and more like a partner… a partner who could always anticipate what’s next.

Related to all of that, here’s something that you might not know: Every year in the Philippines, thousands of talented, licensed clinicians leave the mental health profession because decent jobs in their field (your field) are so scarce there.

Over the years, from some of my other businesses I’ve cultivated lots of experience hiring Filipino VAs. I know that world very well.

This feels like a win for them AND a win for you.

Or am I missing something?

The problem is, I’m not a therapist. Obviously I don’t know your world nearly as well as you do. So I just want to be completely certain that I’m not trying to fix something that ain’t broke. With that in mind, I’m asking for your candid feedback and advice.

So here’s my ask: Would you be “Alabama neighborly” enough to take a couple minutes to fill out a short questionnaire? Just trying to learn a little more about your needs.

If you’d be down for that you can CLICK HERE to go to the questionnaire.

It shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes, and I would be beyond grateful for your input.

Thanks in advance,

Sam

As a mental health professional from my home state I’d like to ask you for a small favor.

There’s a “big idea” I’ve been slow-cooking for a while now and I would love you to tell me if you think it has legs or not.

Here’s the thing: As you know, many private therapy practices already use offshore virtual assistants for scheduling, billing, and paperwork, and a whole bunch of other sanity saving- tasks.

That model has worked great for a long time now.
